Matthew Ryden joined the firm in December 2005. He has extensive experience in formation, mergers and acquisitions of businesses, particularly limited liability companies; negotiating, drafting and enforcing real property purchase agreements and commercial leases. He also specializes in the establishment and enforcement of CC&R’s, easements and other interests in real property. In addition, Matt has experience in the formation and enforcement of non-competition, non-solicitation and non-circumvention agreements.

Prior to joining Angstman Johnson, Matt worked with a large Boise law firm where he practiced in the areas of employment litigation, construction litigation, insurance defense, and business entity formation.

Matt graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, with an emphasis in Finance, in 1991. Matt earned his Master of Business Administration from Boise State University in 1997, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho in 2002. While in law school, Matt served as a legal intern in the Idaho Attorney General’s Office, where he provided counsel to the Superintendent of Idaho Schools. Matt also interned in the offices of Bar Counsel to the Idaho State Bar and the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program. During law school, he represented taxpayers  as a student attorney for the College of Law Tax Clinic.

Prior to pursuing his law degree, Matt obtained several years of business experience in the Boise area. He served as a project manager and marketing specialist for a Boise technology company, conducted market research for a Boise commercial real estate brokerage, and worked for a national bank.

  • Representing debtors and creditors in real property secured loan transactions and loan workouts.
  • Representing debtors and creditors in foreclosure, deficiency and personal guaranty litigation.
  • Representing utility provider in the acquisition of easements for installation of service lines.
  • Formed LLCs and corporations for investment in real property development projects.
  • Represented developers in the creation of enforcement CC&Rs.
  • Represented Homeowners Associations in the amendment and enforcement of CC&Rs, Bylaws, and Rules.
  • Represented employers and business purchasers in litigation to enforce non-compete agreements.
  • Represented members in LLC dissolution litigation.
  • Represented businesses in employment law litigation, personal inury litigation and real estate litigation.
  • Represented buyers and sellers in complex business sale negotiation and execution.
